PORTER’S GIN LAUNCHES A NEW EXPRESSION; TROPICAL OLD TOM

COLD DISTILLED FOR A LIGHTER, FRESHER FLAVOUR

This autumn Porter’s Gin is launching a new expression; Tropical Old Tom, which sees a classic juniper base lifted by exotic notes of passion fruit, guava and white tea. Remaining true to the Old Tom style of gin, a traditional recipe which was popular in the 18th and 19th Centuries, Porter’s have combined sweetened gin with enticing botanicals to create a perfectly balanced and sophisticated tropical old tom recipe.

Tropical Old Tom successfully embodies the aims of Porter’s founders, Alex Lawrence, Ben Iravani and Josh Rennie.  The team of bar industry experts produce well-balanced and innovative gin recipes, using modern methods to extract more refined flavours whilst adhering to traditional distillory practices.

Historically Old Tom Gin is considered the bridge  between sweet Genevers and drier London Dry Gins. For the Tropical Old Tom blend, Porter’s builds on its classic juniper base by cold distilling the tropical botanicals in order to retain their juicy freshness. It’s then slightly sweetened to create a clear gin that is both distinctive and delicious in flavour. Serve with premium tonic water and fresh passion fruit for a tropical G&T.

Tropical Old Tom’s flirtatious approach to exotic flavours has produced a gin that expertly balances sophistication with innovation. The employment of tropical cold-distilled botanicals ensures a lighter, fresher taste confirming Porter’s Gin reputation as a modern classic that plays by its own rules.

Launching this autumn, Tropical Old Tom is available to buy from the Porter’s Gin website www.portersgin.co.uk and is £38.
