Capricci appoints new Head Chef to revamp their Italian trattoria menu.
Capricci, the authentic Italian restaurant and wine bar located on the buzzing Southbank, appoints young Head Chef Federico Casali to elevate their Italian trattoria offering with a new and improved menu.
The restaurant has brought on the talented Federico Casali to curate a daily changing menu, which champions the “shelf to kitchen” philosophy and preserves the time-honoured regional Italian recipes and techniques taught to him by his nonna. Focusing on exceptional produce and simplicity of flavours, the cooking is down-to-earth and honest, and Casali’s Michelin star background, cultured skills and unquestionable talent is evident throughout.
The Capricci menu is a reflection of what is market fresh and is, as a result, a celebration of the seasons. Pasta will play centrally to the offering, with daily lunch specials of mezze maniche, tonnarelli, paccheri, gnocchi, pappardelle, ravioli and lasagne. Primi highlights include cacio e pepe with freshly grated black truffle; rabbit ragu or octopus gnocchi. For the main event, Federico adds a touch of originality to tradition with his Venetian-style calf liver served with sweet and sour onions which features alongside a selection of British sourced meat and fish.
The wine offering is of equal importance to the food at Capricci and celebrates grapes spanning the length and breadth of Italy. Guests are able to pick bottles straight off the shelves or browse the carefully curated list, which features a daily selection of wines by the glass and combines natural wines from Italian micro producers with great classics such as Barolo, Amarone, Prosecco and a selection of the finest champagne and Franciacorta.
The restaurant and wine bar are open six days a week from 8:30 am until 10:30 pm weekdays and from 11 am until 10:30pm on weekends.
