The best-looking and feeling phone you'll find for under £100
How much does £100 get you? Alcatel manages to bring the budget space into the future with a TCL-made 18:9 screen, fingerprint reader, and Android Oreo GO.
Great tech, at a great price
It is now possible to get the very latest in smartphone technology, such as facial recognition, Fingerprint scanner and powerful cameras for a fraction of the cost of premium handsets. The Alcatel 1X is available now, SIM-free for less than £100 – a real pocket-friendly steal.
Android Go phones don’t get the attention that midrange and flagship phones do, but they serve a valuable purpose. Phones such as the Alcatel 1X provide a device with one of the most recent versions of Android at an affordable price.
Professional style photos
Not only is it accessible for even the strictest of budgets, but the Alcatel 1x also has a powerful dual rear camera 13MP + 2MP (up to 16MP + 2MP) and a 5MP front selfie camera with integrated ‘Face Beautification’ filter feature, to create seriously stunning shots. It also comes jam-packed with photo features such as bokeh for added creativity.
The first thing that strikes you about the Alcatel 1X is just how incredibly light it is. Weighing in at a mere 130 grams! This is partly because it’s smaller, of course, but it’s also down to its use of a pebble paint finish.
Complimenting this season’s subtle pastel hues, the soft-to-the-touch casing is fingerprint, scratch and slip-resistant whilst the 18:9 Full View Display with a 5.5-inch display with HD+ resolution, gives a truly immersive viewing experience.
A headphone jack is featured in the Alcatel 1X along with a micro USB charging port sat alongside a speaker and microphone, meaning music and more can be enjoyed in a multitude of ways. The Alcatel 1X provides 420 hours standby time on 4G so ideal for use all day.
The new trendier 18:9 aspect ratio. Using this new aspect ratio makes it easier to hold your phone by making it slimmer and taller. It is something you typically see on flagships and higher-end midrange phones though. Alcatel did a good job by including it on the 1X to help it stand out amongst the crowd.
Alcatel also includes a fingerprint scanner, yet another feature you would be hard-pressed to find on a phone in the £100 price range.
